Who I am
I’m Charlie Brewer (they/them). I’m a freelance multimedia creator studying for my Master’s degree in Journalism and Media Innovation from Emerson College. I also studied at Emerson for my Bachelor’s degree in Visual Media Arts. After graduating with honors in 2017, I started my professional career in Los Angeles working as an Associate Producer for World of Wonder. In light of the worldwide political unrest, I’ve decided to channel my creativity into journalistic outlets.
What I do
I cover the intersection of queer lifestyles and politics in America, such as gay marriage, trans kids in sports, and gender affirming healthcare. I also cover the queer community and the ways in which we take care of each other.
My transness has always been up for debate in my personal life and the national spotlight. I translate the current administration’s policies into words the layperson can understand, and provide resources and solutions for those who need them.
